Where can I find fall stocking dates by county?
Open the official PFBC adult trout stocking search, select your county, choose Fall Stockings, and check your date range. Match the water name and section number. PFBC publishes volunteer meeting locations, meeting times, species, and revision notes; recheck the row before traveling.
Which selected waters have upcoming dates?
Our selected-water schedule and stream finder add section boundaries and saved-water planning. They do not cover every Pennsylvania lake or stocking. Read Laurel Hill Creek’s October 19 plan and time change or the Yellow Breeches Section 03 access correction before planning those trips.
What fall trout rules should I check?
General extended-season rules apply to designated stocked waters, with exceptions for special regulation reaches. In the general program, PFBC lists three trout combined daily, seven inches minimum through December 31, 2026 and nine inches starting January 1, 2027. Those allowances do not apply everywhere; DHALO waters, for example, prohibit trout harvest in October.
Regulations verified for the 2026 season on October 6, 2026 against the PFBC 2026 Fishing Summary and the dated fall announcement. Follow the rules for your exact section. PFBC’s license and permit page explains purchase options; the Summary explains permit requirements and exemptions.
How can I tell a scheduled date from a completed stocking?
A published row describes an agency plan. Its date can move or be cancelled, and a date passing does not confirm delivery. Our creek guides retain older rows, counties, and agency revision notes so you can compare the source history. Rows retained from an earlier snapshot are labeled and excluded from upcoming listings until reverified.
What should I check before fishing?
Check current access, section rules, weather, and the revised schedule. A stream midpoint is not a parking location or permission to cross private property. For consumption advice, use the official Pennsylvania fish-consumption advisory.
Common questions
Does Pennsylvania stock trout in the fall?
Yes. PFBC’s 2026 fall and winter program schedules adult Rainbow, Brown, and Brook Trout in selected Pennsylvania stream sections and lakes from October 1 through mid-December. Check the county search for your water’s individual date and any revision. Program totals are agency plans, and a scheduled date does not confirm that fish were delivered.
When is fall trout stocking in Pennsylvania in 2026?
The PFBC fall and winter stocking window runs October 1 through mid-December 2026. Your stream or lake has its own schedule within that window. Use the official county search and select Fall Stockings for October plans or Winter Stockings for later entries. Recheck the date, section, and revision notes before traveling.
Where are trout stocked near me?
Use the PFBC county schedule to find planned trout stockings in your area, then match the water and stream section. Our Pennsylvania stream finder shows section boundaries and links to official schedules, but its GIS layer excludes lakes and its dated events cover selected waters. A mapped section does not establish parking, public access, or current conditions.
Can I keep trout immediately after a fall stocking?
Check the exact water’s rules first. Designated stocked waters can allow extended-season harvest, while special regulation waters can prohibit it. Laurel Hill Creek sections 3 and 6 are DHALO reaches with no October trout harvest. A stocking date does not change those section rules; read the current PFBC Fishing Summary before keeping a fish.
